Take my hand, take my hand, come on honey, take my hand
Take my hand, take my hand, come on sugar take my hand

Take my hand and come walk with me
I want to be the one you want
You and I, we've got history,
And honey, I am the one you got

I wrote this song after my girlfriend told me of a dream she had about Mel Gibson.
In this dream he was at her house doing yard work, mowing her lawn to be more specific.
I said "Hon, we live in New Mexico, hell you don't even have a lawn."
She gave me a look and said "Maybe, maybe it's just a metaphor for something else." I said "Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of."

I know sometimes that you dream of him
I guess I should not really care
'Cause sometimes I dream of others too
But you are here and they are over there

So take my hand and come walk with me
I could be the one you want
I'm trying hard to be the man of your dreams
And honey I am the one you got

So take my hand, take my hand, come on honey take my hand
Take my hand, take my hand, 'cause I am your man
