Motel Ghost
Written by Mike Laughlin

More ways than one of running, moving way too fast
Life holds no meaning for you, nothing seems to last
In your eyes, I can see your pain
Trying anything to forget, you know I did the same

Time to start running again

Leather jackets, knives and guns, friends from your past are dead
Cops and thugs, the needle took some, not an easy path to tread
You feel all alone even in a crowded room
Holding someone leaves you nothing to hold, the feeling fades too soon

It's hard to look ahead when you peer back through the gloom

All your life you've been waiting for
For a reason you could stay
But all your life you've been trying to,
Keep the emptiness at bay

Here it comes again

I watch this all unfold from the other side
I used to be like you back when I was alive
Made my last mistake here in this rented room
Better find something to live for, you better find it soon

Or you can follow selfishness to your doom

All my life I was waiting for
For a reason I could stay
But all my life I just lived for myself
It was a life lived in vain

Don't become like me
